Privacy policy

Airotica is built to collect as little as possible. Reading needs no account and sets no tracking cookies. This page lists everything we do collect and why.
1. Readers
- Age acknowledgement cookie. When you confirm you are an adult we set a cookie so you aren’t asked again for 90 days. It holds only the time you confirmed.
- Theme cookie. Your light / dark preference, if you set one.
- Reports. If you report a chapter, we store the report, your note, and your IP address. The IP address is used only to rate-limit reports and to investigate abuse of the report system.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes request data such as IP address, user agent, and URL to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We do not use it to build profiles.
- We do not run advertising or third-party analytics trackers. If that changes, this page will say so first.
2. Authors
- Account. Email address, display name, a hashed password, and a session cookie while you are signed in.
- Your work. Stories, chapters, drafts, tags, and revision history, including unpublished drafts.
- Moderation records. Review decisions, rejection reasons, strike count, and any suspension or ban, kept for as long as the account exists so that the enforcement ladder can be applied fairly.
- Automated classification. When you submit a chapter, its text (with the story title and blurb) is sent to a third-party AI provider to suggest a category, tags, heat level, and content warnings, and to screen it against the content guidelines. Providers we may use: DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google. Your name and email are not sent; the chapter text is. Each provider handles that text under its own terms.
3. What we don’t do
- We don’t sell or rent personal data.
- We don’t track what you read. There are no reading histories, favourites, or recommendation profiles tied to a person — “more like this” is computed from the chapter, not from you.
- We don’t send marketing email. At present we don’t send email at all.
4. Where data lives
The site runs on Cloudflare (Workers, D1, R2). Data may be stored and processed in any region Cloudflare operates in. Backups are retained by the platform for a limited rolling window.
5. Retention and deletion
- Reader cookies expire on their own (age: 90 days; theme: one year) and you can clear them at any time.
- Reports are kept while they are relevant to moderation, then deleted.
- Authors can delete their own stories and chapters at any time. To delete your account and everything attached to it, use the contact form with the address on the account — we reply there and act only on your confirmation. Content that was removed for a policy violation may be retained where the law requires.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to object to how it is processed. Use the contact form and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
The site is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.
8. Changes and contact
We’ll update the date at the top when this policy changes. Questions? Contact us. See also the terms of use.
